Gilt Groupe, one of the fastest growing companies in NYC provides access, by invitation only, to Men`s, Women`s, Children`s, Beauty, and Home coveted fashion and luxury brands at prices up to 70% off retail. Each sale lasts 36 hours and features hand selected styles from a single designer. The business model, based on urgency and scarcity, offers extraordinary goods at incredible prices, but only for a limited time. All of these sales occur daily at noon, driven by daily email reminders and alerts to a private membership. Most of the hot items are sold within the first 10 minutes, with the bulk of sales occurring within the first 90 minutes.
The business causes a daily, massive flood of transactional traffic at noon. Hundreds of thousands of shoppers compete online for the limited inventory, creating the need for a highly scalable and reliable web infrastructure. Our peak traffic is approaching the average load of large ecommerce sites like Amazon.com. The platform team is building an infrastructure that can handle it.
The Sr. Software Engineer in Test will be responsible for maintaining current test automation frameworks as well as design and developing of new Test tools using JAVA and GWT, innovative test automation systems.
Responsibilities
• Enhance current test framework written in Java and Selenium
• Create new test systems and tools as the need arises
• Design and Develop an in-house test management tool that will be used for both manual and automated test case development and execution using Java and GWT
• Act as a technology consultant to the rest of the testing team to assist in designing test suites and the proper use of Selenium and the automated process
Qualifications
• 7+ years experience in test automation and software quality assurance or development in a web environment
• 3+ years experience coding in a high-level object oriented language such as Java or Python
• 1+ years experience using Selenium and Selenium Grid
• Proficient in SQL and executing back-end database validations
• Ability to mentor team members in the proper use of test automation
